Alexander Borissov Artist Bio:

Many artists combined their art with a variety of occupations. Gauguin was s stockbroker, Rousseau a toll collector, Matisse studied Law and worked as a court administrator. There was a gap for a painting accountant which Moscow born Alexander Borissov (1963) has chosen to fill. Member of the Fine Art Trade Guild, Alexander produced a series of stunning impressionist oil paintings - cityscapes and themes from nature. With his foray into acrylics Alexander has advanced into his long term favourite - abstract expressionist art. 1963 Alexander Borissov was born in Moscow, Russia. 1986-2002 After graduation from Moscow State University Alexander Borissov moves to London to complete his second Master degree at an American university Huron. He later accomplishes CIMA qualification. 2002 Alexander follows the steps of his artist-grandfather with producing an array of highly successful impressionist images - city-scapes and themes from nature. Borissov's artworks are exhibited in London galleries, including those at the prime locations of Kensington Church Street and in the heart of the financial centre at Canary Wharf, as well as at the prestigious Chelsea Art Fair and an art exhibition at Kensington Olympia. 2004 Member of the Fine Art Trade Guild in London, Alexander Borissov issues limited addition prints of his impressionist art works, gaining an international recognition. 2006 On the quest of artistic liberty Alexander Borissov breaks away from the constraints of figurative art in favor of abstract and eventually abstract-expressionist technique. He invents his own ravioli painting technique. “Dip one boiled ravioli into household paint and launch it with a catapult on a thickly primed canvas, and you will get an intriguing pattern of lines and colours resulted from an interplay of the intention and chance”, - comments Alexander. 2008 to present The artist moves to Switzerland. He gets inspiration from the vast spaces of Swiss mountain landscapes. Painting in his spacious art studio in Erlenbach, as well as in Swiss Alps and at international locations in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Italy, Maldives, Sweden, Russia, UK, and USA he creates extra-large polyptych paintings in abstract expressionist style.
