Charron Pugsley-hill Artist Bio:
I began painting in 2010 following a professional career in wildlife conservation and the environment. My art is therefore inspired by my passion and interest in nature and places that I visit and love. I have always been an advocate of colour and texture believing that they can affect our mood and positivity in ways we may or may not understand. Being an extrovert and positive person generally, I have always been drawn to strong bright colours and hence when I started painting that influence showed in my work. I am completely self-taught and enjoy learning and trying new things as time passes. Painting for me draws out the emotions around my love of nature and the outdoors. I am outside whenever I can be and I love traveling and exploring new places that then may inspire me to paint. I am a happy positive person and I want to bring joy, positivity and happiness to others through my painting as I believe focusing on the positives can help us live in a way that give us and others true depth and satisfaction. Most of my paintings are in acrylics as I love the strength and vibrancy of the colours they give on the canvas. I also use metallics and fine glitters to give a changing feel in different light conditions. I like to paint big..the bigger the better as I can be very extrovert in each piece moving and standing as I paint to give impact with each subject. I have recently been an Artist in Residence with The National Trust at Lyveden New Bield Northamptonshire until July 2014. I was very excited by this opportunity with this atmospheric property and landscape as it is gave a focus to my current work around my existing style. During October 2014 I am exhibiting 'MOONLIGHT MEADOW' at Pimlico underground station in London to coincide wight he 30th awarding of the Turner Prize at the Tate. I am exhibiting in Art in the Heart Gallery and shop in Peterborough-with am amazing array of other artists local to Peterborough and Love Stamford -a shop/gallery in the centre of Stamford.I have also recently been invited to exhibit in Milan and Malta and I am working with a number of national high profile charities to raise awareness and fund raise for them. I also have a number of high profile projects in progress for the coming months into 2015. A short film has also recently been made as the first in a series about what inspires me and why I do what I do-search for me on youtube. I welcome commissions and also have a range of products that are printed with some of my eye-catching paintings. These include a stunning range of cushions produced by Scatter Box an international upholstery company, limited edition bags, cards, prints, bangles, mugs and t-shirts. I am constantly looking for new great quality products to captivate and inspire you so please keep coming back to see whats new! I am also inspired by the reactions of people who enjoy my work and take the time to tell me their thoughts and opinions on what I do. The most popular comment is that “it makes me smile” and that for me is what its all about! THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AT MY WORK. Your support is invaluable. It enables me to keep working and inspiring others and I am truly thankful for it. Please contact me if you have any questions or thoughts on my work and products as I love hearing what you think about I am doing and the subjects that I am painting!
