fabrice covelli Artist Bio:

My lifelong involvement in Visual Arts began at age 16 when I left the family farm to work in building construction and developed a deep love and need for artistic expression. At 23, I entered Fine Arts School to formalize my education. After five years of study, I earned a BA in sculpture and painting and developed confidence to find my own way in the Art and Design world. Over the last 25 years, I have acquired extensive knowledge of many art techniques and perfected my abilities to express concepts and ideas through multiple media and materials. Today, I continue to grow as I experiment with other art forms and collaborate with artists of various expressions. My Art is intellectual by nature and has a strong physical personality. Driven by my most inner consciousness, I let my instincts and inspiration direct my creative process while channeling it through precise techniques. My main motivation is to create Art that makes people curious: to question and investigate. The work I am currently developing is dedicated to our Planet, as I feel there is an urgency to make people aware of the importance of our connection to Earth and the environment. Each piece in this series (Ode to Our Planet) evokes a simple topic for conversation with the possibility of multiple conclusions and interpretations. The intention is to stimulate conversation among culturally and socially diverse groups of people and engage their thinking about their routines and behaviors. I choose my materials based on the sensory experience they will provide. I feel that material is key to connecting with sensibility and understanding. The making of Art is a passionate process for me; it involves research and experimentation, and ultimately leads to a rugged and lasting form that could be physically experienced through sight and touch.
