Rosalinda Kolb Artist Bio:
I am a worshipper of nature as well as a lover of culture. For me, originality is paramount in artwork, the cultivation of a "personal vision." Each new series shoots for a re-shuffling of the psychic deck. I recently published a short memoir about my life with saxophonist Frank Morgan, with whom I was obsessed for over thirty years. The E-book is titled "Leave 'Em Hungry, A Love Story and Cautionary Tale," and is a deeply personal recounting shot through with the heartbreak of addiction and codependency. It is available on Amazon where you may read the first chapters at no charge. "Sound of Redemption, The Frank Morgan Story" a documentary produced by crime fiction writer Michael Connelly and in which I play my small part, will enter mainstream distribution in 2016. My earliest "morality," you might say, was shaped by grand opera, including Wagner, Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, et al, and musical theater, a la Cole Porter, Richard Rogers, Oscar Hammerstein, Lorenz Hart, Frank Loesser, Lerner and Loewe, Irving Berlin, the Gershwins. In other words, the American Songbook. This prepared me for my appreciation of the jewel in the crown of American culture, which I discovered quite by chance: I stumbled upon John Coltrane playing "My Favorite Things."
